The Athens Fibercraft Guild meets on the second Tuesday of the month, 12:30p, September – May, at the Lyndon House Arts Center, 211 Hoyt Street, Athens GA 30601. For the 2020-21 year, we have been meeting via Zoom, but for the May meeting, we will be meeting in the Lyndon House Arts Center Community Room. If you are interested in attending the May Meeting, you will need to RSVP to Linda Greiss via text/phone at 678-772-5138 or email at

AFG’s Tuesday, September 14th meeting will be on Zoom once again at 12:30 p.m.  The first part of our program will be viewing a video, “Quilt Stories” which is an interview of Susan Brubaker Knapp who shares the haunting story about her quilt “I’ll Fly Away”. The video is not just about quilting! The quilt’s theme is about the racial tension that has been going on in our country. Susan addresses how she conceptualized her artistic ideas and carries them out. It is also about painting on fabric, using stencils, free motion quilting and more. The second half of our meeting will be Show n’ Tell.

The Athens Fibercraft Guild welcomes all amateur and professional fiber artists including knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, fabric designers, basket makers, quilters and embroiderers who share their talents. Although meetings are normally held on the second Tuesdays of the months September through June at the Lyndon House Arts Center, 211 Hoyt St., Athens, GA and feature programs about the fiber arts, June and July meetings will meet via Zoom.  Members are sent email invitations to join the meetings.
