This month, we are meeting on ZOOM at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, November 9, 2021. The speaker will be Maude Anne May, Encaustic and Fiber Collage Artist. “I am a collage artist layering images and utilizing two dissimilar mediums: encaustic and fabric. Telling visual stories, I combine discarded family pix, snapshots, iphone pix, photographic transfers, collected fabrics, papers, my own previously created encaustic works on linen, creating both simple and complex fabric collages. I use a sewing machine and handstitch. I strive to move the viewer towards discovering and honoring the mysteries of the people, ideas, places and possessions that were once deemed as precious and have now been left behind.”
